Shrove Tuesday has arrived! The best holiday in the calendar by far, as if any of us even need an excuse to scoff pancakes, is definitely one you do not want to miss celebrating. Check out our pick of the top five places to stuff yourself silly in Shoreditch tomorrow.


1)  The Breakfast Club – 2 -4 Rufus Street, N1 6PE

This is the perfect place for any meal at any time of the day but no one does breakfast quite like these lot. Throughout Shrove Tuesday they will be hosting their annual Pancake Challenge – eat 12  pancakes in less than 15 minutes and it’s on the house but if you lose, you pay the full price that they will then donate to charity. They will also be serving their regular pancakes classics as well as some limited edition specials. So dig out your elasticated trackies and get down there tomorrow pronto as there’s no need to book a table, just pop in!


2)  Phipp Street  – Hackney, EC2A 4BP

 If you’re between 11am and 3pm tomorrow, (just call in sick trust us it will be worth it) head on down to Phipp Street for a free pancake festival hosted by Lyles Golden Syrup. You can enjoy complimentary crepes as well as picking up tips on how to make the perfect pancakes from pros.


3)  The Water Poet – 9 -11 Folgate St, Spitalfields, E1 6BX.

If you would like to be a little naughty, because who doesn’t, check out The Water Poet for something a little different. from the usual fare. This proper pub will be serving pancakes infused with beer and spirits to make them as irresistible as possible as well as some top class savoury flavor combinations not to be missed.


4)  Queen of Hoxton  – 1-5 Curtain Rd, EC2A 3JX

 If you like your pancakes with a view pop down to The Queen of Hoxton for just that. Proclaiming it as their favourite day of the year they will be serving sweet/savoury pancake’s as well being able to customize to your own tastes, on their heated rooftop from 6pm. Entry is free and everything is under a tenner. Result!


5)  Shutterbug Bar and Creperie – 1 Rivington Place. EC2A 3BA  

For the chance to party on Pancake Day check out Shutterbug Bar and Creperie, serving traditional French crepes in savoury and sweet flavour’s as well as buckwheat pancakes for those watching their waistlines. Shutterbug will be hosting a night of live music as well as cocktails from 6.30pm.
