Illustrator Ben Chen uses dark humor to satirise the characters of our childhood and their rainbow-paved journey to Happily Ever After. His macabre, witty creativity portrays them being killed by the very things that made them famous – Cinderella is gobbled up by her own pumpkin carriage, Marty Mcfly uses time travel to meet death by T-Rex and Humpty Dumpty finds himself sunny side up at the Mad Hatter tea party.
In the opposite, cynical end of the fantasy spectrum, Chen humorously depicts their instruments of success as their downfall. Should they have been more careful what they wished for?
