What did inspire you to start creating music?
It was something that I really enjoyed and loved doing from a really early age.
How did your collaboration with Breach come about?
I’ve known him for a long time and didn’t actually realise he made house music until I heard him do the remix of Everything You Never Had! He heard the track via my label and worked his magic!
What has been your most successful or most enjoyed gig so far?
It was probably selling out Union Chapel last year. It is such a beautiful venue and I felt totally overwhelmed!!
How would you describe your creative processes? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately?
The chords usually come first and are the thing that will trigger the melody. When you’re singing rough melodies random lyrics pop out and that’s usually how the creative process takes off.
Who are your favourite artists?
Ooh there’s a lot. At the top of my list are Lauryn Hill, Bjork, Jamie Lidell, Emily King and Donny Hathaway.
What are your future plans?
Continue to make music I love and share it with as many people around the world as possible! …Oh and learn to drive at some point and get a radical haircut!
