Shoreditch-based Guerilla Galleries invites artists to submit work for an exhibition entitled ‘FORBIDDEN’ to take place on the 6 – 8th January 2015 at The Daniel Libeskind Space. The show asks that audiences reconsider the accepted societal notion of FORBIDDEN, and its relation to self-censorship in regards to what is seen, said and displayed publicly. It further poses questions of what in a democratic and free society is not permissible and why? Are there really some things best left unsaid, certain images and artefacts best not seen?

This Open Call encourages artists to submit recent work that explores aspects of what is deemed and perceived as FORBIDDEN with the intent of challenging audiences on an emotional and intellectual level to perhaps question various restrictions and assumptions around what is widely interpreted as FORBIDDEN.

All art disciplines are welcome (paintings, sculptures, installations, films, audio, sound, performances, etc.) as long as they match the theme.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 15th December 2014
