Tell us about The Plough at Swan Wharf, what did inspire you to start it?

Our first bar in Homerton has been open for just over a year and we were looking to open another place. The Swan Wharf site is only a short term lease but it came along at just the right moment. We wanted to try our hand at something bigger and that’s just what we got! This time we have a beer garden for summer drinking which is something our first site doesn’t have.

What is unique about the restaurant?

The size of it’s outdoor space and that it gets all-day sunshine is it’s main selling point. We aim to serve fresh, home-made food and drinks in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere all day every day!

What is your signature dish/drink that everyone has to try?

We serve fantastic fish tacos and fried chicken buns so definitely have some of those. Drinks-wise we do really tasty jugged cocktails which are great for sharing with friends.egg&baconbapsalmon toast

Why did you choose East London to open up The Plough?

We’ve all lived around here for years. The original Plough in Homerton was being used as a kebab shop and we saw it and decided to turn it back in to a pub and give it a go!

What would you say has been the most memorable experience while developing this business?

We’re very hands on. A lot of what you see in our bars was made by us. A lot of my happiest memories are of watching something we made ourselves being enjoyed for the first time by a customer, whether it’s a new cocktail or just a compliment on the bar stools!

What are your future plans?

To have an amazing summer 2015 in Hackney Wick and hopefully open up a late night bar under our Homerton bar for the Autumn.
