But, fear no more!

Often times we think monotone colors make us look more attractive but, in fact, the use of black and white pictures versus colors has absolutely no impact on how successful your profile will be.

2. Avoid posting photos with the opposite sex.

If the opposite sex is present on your main profile picture, you will be 10% less likely to receive a like.

3. Have five photos on your profile.

Five photos is the optimum number with one full shot, one close up of your face, one that can engage a conversation, one doing something you like and one of your hobbies.

4. Inside versus outside pictures matter based on your sex.

Men’s profiles perform better when the photos are outside while girls with inside pictures get more traction.

5. Selfies work better for women.

For the ladies, posting a selfie will increase their chance of getting a message by 9% and for the men, it will lead to 14% fewer messages.

6. Message a person first in the evening rather than the morning.

37% of messages  first sent on a dating app before noon won’t get a reply, whereas 75% of messages sent between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. are followed up with.
