Tell us about your business?

We are a wristband and accreditation company that have been working with festivals and live events globally for more than 20 years.

With offices in the UK, US and South Africa we’re experts in our field and provide bespoke wristbands, lanyards and accreditation to anyone and everyone. We support the one off festival garden party, to Grass Roots Events and global music festivals!

What were the biggest events that you worked with?

We work with events all over the world including the likes of Coachella and have teamed up with the Grammy, Brits and NME Awards over the last few years.

Working with so many events you must see a lot of fun things during the prep process, can you share some of the funniest/craziest experiences you had so far?

Coming up with ideas is the best bit, it’s great to meet up with clients and bounce ideas around. Some have strong themes they want to incorporate into their designs (toilet themed springs to mind!) others give you a blank canvas. Our favourites though are the really over the top ones that use glitter and neon colours. Oh and our European have taught us some great words for VIP ;)!

You recently have worked with NME Awards and Brit Awards, who were your favourite performers on these shows?

Ah it depends who you ask. We are a fairly large team with pretty varied music tastes. I loved seeing Foals but who can forget Bring Me The Horizon’s dramatic performance at this year’s NMEs, but my colleague confirmed that he is now a true Belieber after coming back from this year’s Brit Awards.

You been in the events industry for more than 20 years, how has it changed? What kind of events are becoming more popular these days?

Festivals have been increasing in popularity for the last 10 years or so, with many people now choosing to attend a festival instead of going on holiday. As a result the big ones are getting bigger and there is an exciting stream of new ones popping up every year!

We’ve recognised this and offer the ID&C Grass Roots Bursary to help support these newer events. It’s a tough market, especially at the beginning so we like to help where we can.

Undoubtedly though security is number one priority to everyone we work with. We’re an innovative company and always looking for new security solutions and so are the events we work with.

What does the future have in store for your business?
We’ve just launched our new site www.idcband.com allowing our customers to design their wristbands directly online and are working on dedicated sites for our global customers too.

RFID wristbands are a big deal right now as well. We already have a large number of European and American clients using it and it’s increasing in popularity among our UK market. Many UK events have already embraced it to boost marketing, speed up queues and keep track of staff which makes for a much more efficient festival. It’s only a matter of time before RFID becomes the norm for events across the board.

ID&C supplies wristbands for events and festivals offering a wide range of silicon, paper, fabric and RFID wristbands. Find out more at https://www.idcband.com/
