The Milky Way’s Inception in Macro Cinematography

The Earth was formed 4.5 billion years ago by the same collision that formed the Sun and the other planets in this galaxy. Singularity by filmmaker Roman De Giuli takes us back to the start of the Milky Way with just a small crystal ball and organic fluids. “It is the story of an indescribable hazard and a singular fortune: the fortune of being a human,” said Terracollage. No CGI was used to create these mesmerizing two-dimensional images.

De Giuli used Macro Cinematography to show this non-narrative inspired by the movie Interstellar. With a creative approach to visual storytelling, he only used household items and ink for this video. Men and Earth aren’t co-dependent. Men need the Earth, but the Earth doesn’t need Men. De Giuli explores what this relationship is like in Singularity.
