‘People of London’ was conceived by award-winning photographer Peter Zelweski, whose stunning portraits have garnered international media attention most notably by winning an award in the Taylor Wessing Prize 2015 for his portrait of Nyaueth.
Shot over the past three years, Zelewski has dedicated hundreds of hours to exploring every corner of the city and his portraits highlight the rich diversity of the capital. Buskers, refuse collectors, tailors and lawyers are captured in his unique style with many of them giving their intimate thoughts on the town, on life and everything inbetween.
Following the recent launch of the Mayor of London’s ‘London is Open’ campaign, ‘People of London’ perfectly sums up the feeling behind this movement and celebrates the life in the world’s most vibrant city.
