Old paintings and art found in thrift or second hand shops often need a little revamping to make them more fun and relevant. Canadian artist David Irvine, known as The Gnarled Branch, has found the perfect way to do that and the results are amazing.

He has painted famous pop culture icons and references straight onto these old paintings and given them a new lease of life. The additions fit in perfectly with the paintings, almost as if they were originally made like that.
