French techno icon and internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Laurent Garnier is making a grand return to London. The underground legend will play Sabajaq at Egg for the first time in three years on Saturday October 7th to celebrate the 30 year anniversary since starting his DJ career at the groundbreaking Hacienda club in 1987.
To mark the occasion, Garnier will be playing a special four hour set allowing him to dig deep and offer up a superb showcase of his famous techno sounds. From high octane to weird and wonderful to deep and dreamy, Garnier has done it all over his long and storied career. Hits like Man With The Red Face will always be classics, while his unique fusion of Detroit techno and jazz will always stand him apart. As well as running the F Communications label, his latest productions have come on the likes of Kompakt and prove he is still one of the finest producers of his generation.
Sabajaq has hosted the likes of Green Velvet, DJ Hell and Monika Kruse and is known for its distinctive artwork, experimental installations and always on point, edgy soundtracks. The night has been resident at EGG for two years and its reputation is deservedly sky high.
Support on the night will come from Sabajaq residents Warboy—a DJ, promoter and producer who has tracks charting on the Beatport on labels like Kinetica and Quantize—and Maze & Masters, two female DJs with a dark techno sound who are also residents at Solid Groove. They will back up the main man with some infectious sounds from the worlds of house and techno and really put the club’s sound system through its paces.
Five rooms will host some of London’s most progressive talents right now delivering techno, house and disco
What’s more, the main room at EGG, included in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs, has been overhauled and will be newly open for this event.
The last time Laurent Garner played at EGG it was a sold out show, so this one is set to be just as special.
