A new feature by Ebookers is helping users discover their perfect Christmas drink.

Trends surrounding Christmas cocktails are shifting, with mixologists predicting a major increase in homemade cocktails this Christmas, along with a rise in popularity for Christmas cocktails in general, according to research by Cellar Trends. Sainsbury’s reported in 2016 that in their stores £5000 was spent on sparkling wine every minute on December 23rd – the busiest trading day of the year – while on the same day £1M was spent on gin.  Another study by Equimedia shows that the most online searches for cocktails and cocktail recipes occur on Christmas day and New Years Eve.

Christmas drinks have become a key part of celebrating the festive season, and with so many new flavours and variations being experimented with, there’s a hugely diverse range of festive cocktails to suit anyone and everyone.

Ebookers have developed an interactive tool for users to find the perfect cocktail for their personality and tastes this Christmas. The Christmas Cocktails generator allows users to complete a quick personality test and determine the right cocktail for them.

Recipes have been contributed by 12 of the UK’s most influential mixologists, recipe developers, and lifestyle and food & drink bloggers.

With over 60 cocktails – including a huge number of vegan and non-alcoholic options – there’s bound to be a drink to suit every taste. The selection offers a few of the classics, along with a range of experimental and distinctly festive flavours – like the Gingerbread Man Martini or, for the more experienced mixers, the blazing Feuerzangenbowle from Germany.

Alternatively – highlighting the different ways we celebrate Christmas, and the different ways we drink around the world – cocktails can be searched for by location using an interactive map. The tool features cocktails from over 20 countries across the globe – from Mexico’s Ponche Navideño to New Zealand’s Feijoa Spritz, with all the warmer tipples in between!
