London Cocktail Week: The Award-Winning Festival Announces Its Biggest And Longest Festival To Date

London Cocktail Week (4 – 13 October) will be celebrating a landmark year this year, marking ten years since the first festival took place. New for 2019, the festival will now stretch across ten days and once again, festival-goers can soak up the capital’s thriving cocktail scene with access to over 300 bars serving £6 cocktails and experience a whole array of pop-ups, parties and events.

The Cocktail Village, located in the Old Truman Brewery Estate on Brick Lane, will feature an array of established and emerging brands, from tequilas, to gins, piscos, whiskies and vodkas alongside immersive pop-ups and experiential activations. Launching on 9 October, guests will be able to enter The Cocktail Village free of charge with a festival pass. New for the decennial year, The London Cocktail Week Covent Garden Pop-Up, situated in Ice Tank on Grape Street, will run from 4 October and will be a nod back to the festival’s first foray into pop-up shops. Entry will be free for those with a Festival Pass.

Festival passes are on sale now at DrinkUp.London and for just £10 drinks enthusiasts can toast to the city’s best spirits, award-winning bars, pop-ups, unlimited £6 cocktails, parties and more.

THE LONDON COCKTAIL WEEK COVENT GARDEN POP-UP (OPEN: 4 – 10 OCTOBER)

Running throughout the duration of the festival, the Ice Tank shop space in Covent Garden, will showcase a daily rotation of brands, bartenders and masterclasses alongside a one-stop shop for consumer’s cocktail making needs. Festival-goers can also enjoy a secret speakeasy bar serving a daily menu of cocktails made by the very best bartenders in the world, wowing guests with their signature serves.

THE COCKTAIL VILLAGE AT THE OLD TRUMAN BREWERY (OPEN: 9 – 13 OCTOBER)

The Cocktail Village is at the heart of London Cocktail Week and a true cocktail lovers’ paradise with music, food and cocktails in full flow. The Cocktail Village will be the biggest cocktail hub London has ever seen with trucks and trikes, beaches and gardens, smoke houses and saunas, a boozy-carousel and an authentic Japanese Izakaya alley – all serving £6 cocktails to celebrate the festival.

Returning to Brick Lane, the site will play host to 40 pop-up bars serving all of the best creative cocktails the capital has to offer. A first for 2019, London Cocktail Week has joined forces with Street Feast, owners of several legendary street food markets across London, to provide the food, plus nightly raucous entertainment will be on show from cabaret favourites such as Sink the Pink for some night time party vibes and Hip Hop Brunch on Sunday 13 October, with more to be announced.

THE DRINKUP.LONDON APP

Festival-goers will have access to the whole festival in the palm of their hands via the free DrinkUp.London app where they can activate and personalise their £10 Festival Pass to qualify for their discounted drinks plus get access to the Festival Hubs.

The app shows each bar’s signature drink and users can search for bars to visit by area or type. The personalised pass allows all guests to simply flash their photographic digital pass for fast and easy access to £6 signature cocktails across the ten days.

For this year only, guests will also be able to collect a special commemorative London Cocktail Week wristband from either The Cocktail Village or The Covent Garden Pop-Up – if they’re feeling nostalgic.

MASTERCLASSES AND MORE

In addition to The Cocktail Village and the pop-up in Covent Garden, London Cocktail Week is also made up of a timetable of unmissable parties, masterclasses and supper clubs suitable for everyone, from amateur to expert, as well as the renowned self-guided Cocktail Tours. More than 300 of the best bars across the capital will welcome consumers to enjoy specially created cocktails for £6 to any festival pass holder, with venues encouraged to offer a lower-alcohol option, as well as a non-alcoholic option for £4, alongside their signature serve to promote the growing trend for mindful drinking.

Founder of DrinkUp.London and London Cocktail Week, Hannah Sharman-Cox comments: “We’re thrilled to raise a toast to ten years of London Cocktail Week and extend the festival across ten days, giving our cocktail lovers more than just a taste of what the vibrant London cocktail scene has to offer. We are excited for our fans and new-comers to experience quality cocktails, parties, masterclasses and more in this milestone year.”
