Swap shop coming to Hackney, help us tackle period poverty, one swap at a time.
On Saturday 9th November Our Remedy is hosting a charity swap shop where all money raised will go to ‘Bloody Good Period’ a period poverty charity. The swap shop will allow people to bring clothes they no longer wear and swap them for something exciting. This is a very environmentally friendly and cost effective way of getting new clothes, as well as supporting a charity.
The swap shop will be hosted by Our Remedy. Our Remedy is a CBD brand that aims to help women with period issues but with a difference. We offer plastic free refills, donate money to charity with every bottle sold and are run by women. One in four women miss work because of period poverty, girls in Africa miss school because of period poverty leaving women in need at a natural disadvantage each month. We want to help make a difference.
Rachel Mason, the founder of Our Remedy, says “I’ve always been very passionate about ways in which I can help the environment so when thinking about the first charity event I would do to raise money for period poverty it made perfect sense to do a Swap Shop. You can bring clothes you have fallen out of love with and swap them for something, at no cost! It’s a great thing to do for the environment and charity”
Tickets for the charity swap shop are just £10 each and available to buy from www.ourremedy.co.uk/swapshop.
The Swap Shop will be held at The Womb Room, Unit Q2, 55 Wallis Road, Hackney Wick, E9 5Lh from 12-3pm
