Movement and food to nourish your mind, body, and spirit
Exercise might be the farthest thing from your mind during or after cancer treatment, or you might be keen to get going but unsure of how to proceed. In this workshop Lizzy will explore the reasons why we need to engage in more physical activity, how to manage any side effects from treatment and hopefully inspire you to move more each day.
The session will be fun and practical and suitable for all ages and abilities, so everyone is welcome.
When we sit all day long, our bodies and minds become stagnant, a bit like a pond. But when we break up our sedentary behaviour with bouts of movement, we get everything flowing again, bringing nourishment to our minds, joints, muscles, organs, and cells.
‘Deep Nourishment’ with Liz Butler (Cancer Nutritionist)
This is a term Liz often uses to describe nourishing the body on all levels – body, mind and soul. Liz will focus on how food nourishes us on all of those levels and how important it is to find the foods and eating plan that not only provide all the necessary nutrients to support physical well-being, but also make us feel relaxed and happy supporting our emotional well-being and therefore further enhancing physical health. Liz will provide some theory and then practical demonstration of some simple recipes to bring it all to life.
