For 2020, the London International Mime Festival opens with aerial theatre company Ockham’s Razor’s THIS TIME at Shoreditch Town Hall.
With a cast ranging in age from 13 to 60, and performed with unique aerial equipment specially created for the piece, This Time explores time and transformation and the ups and downs of family relationships, and shows how we are strong in different ways at different times of life.
Suspended high above or swinging perilously close to ground, Ockham’s Razor’s artists amaze with new takes on trapeze and cradle routines in this visual theatre drama.
Created and performed by real life partners and company founders Charlotte Mooney and Alex Harvey, following the birth of their daughter and turning 40, THIS TIME comes from a desire to present an autobiographical show featuring different bodies and different ages considering the impact of change, memory and family.
Others in the cast include 60-year-old Lee Carter, who discovered a passion for performance at the age of 50 and until recently danced with Tilted, and 13-year-old Faith Fahy, who studied circus skills, for just over a year at the National Centre for Circus Arts.
Musical director is Max Reinhardt, musical composition by Chioma Uma, costume design by Tina Bicật and lighting by Phil Supple.
