Kick off your bank holiday weekend and join The Bright Kites Foundation for an evening of live salsa, cumbia and Latin flavour to support disadvantaged students from Colombia.
The Bright Kites Foundation unite with local artists to celebrate the future of the younger generation back home.

Having taught English for NGO ‘Heart for Change’ and the Ministry of Education’s program ‘Colombia Bilingüe’, The Bright Kites Foundation was founded by a group of volunteers to inspire and encourage students from public schools in some of the toughest neighbourhoods in the country. They aim to give these students a chance to grow, both academically and personally, by studying English in the UK and acting as ambassadors in their communities on their return.

With the funds raised, The BFK hope to send one student from each of their schools in Cali, Pereira and Medellin to Bayswater College this summer, with the hope to expand their network in the future!

Line up:

7.30pm – 8.30pm Cali salsa class with Fuego Caleño

9 – 10pm Esteban Card & his band will perform a mesmerising live set, inspired by the traditional sounds of ancestral drumming from Colombia’s Caribbean coast.

10 – 11pm Tropical indie band The Indios will grace the stage with their take on Colombian rhythms such as Champeta, Chande and Cumbia.

11pm – close DJ Alex Farrell, founder & guitarist of London Afrobeat Collective, will end the night with his own blend of afro and latin influenced house, funk and disco.
