The Book Club Basecamp Opens This Friday!

The Book Club will swing open the gates of Basecamp on Friday 27th July. They have got an outdoor bar, kitchen and playground for adults in the Leonard Street car park for a stylish, alfresco pop-up complete with big screens to watch the Games and cheer on your team.

Street kitchen will be on hand with their freshly prepared bistro menu by day and burgers by night and The Book Club will be serving up cocktails such as Starter’s Orders and End It Like Beckham plus Mojitos and Pimms by the pint!

The venue will have a British eccentric theme with flashes of neon, ping pong, table football, basketball, plus a paddling pool and an ice cream van!

And being The Book Club of course there will be some local artists giving it all a twist. Live graffiti art will be set against a raw concrete backdrop, just another interesting feature livening up proceedings.

There will be lashings of cider, real ales from London Fields Brewery, ice-cold beers, frozen cocktails and Pimms with trims, as well as great coffee and fresh juices. They will have hearty, British, sustainably-sourced grub from culinary giants Street Kitchen, known London-wide for their deliciously simple menus, cooked and prepared in their shiny airstream. Their tasty bistro lunches such as Crispy chicken with warm crushed potatoes, pickled red onions, bacon, croutons, soft lettuce and Winchy mayo will be a sure fire hit.

Get involved in some silly sports hosted by The Social Athletics Club. There will be energetic rounds of King Pong, or if team sport is more your thing, compete in motley crews to play beer pong, basketball or croquet to become the Ultimate Social Athlete. Drinking highly recommended, sweat-bands mandatory, talent optional!

The Book Club Basecamp will be a whole new alfresco hub, bang in the middle of Shoreditch. Cheer your favourite athletes to the win or just enjoy the fun!

And did we mention it’s FREE!!
