You have had an amazing year with Krush, what have been your highlights so far?
The birthday party, for starters… The warehouse was busy very early in the night and by 1am we almost had a full house. The lights were spot on once again, thanks to Stuart, and everybody was oozing with joy. From Guille Bonesso, to Heidi, then a spectacular 2h live set (and there some footage on YouTube) from Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts you could feel the energy. We shut very early in the morning, the sun was fixed up high in the sky already and the floor was still full. Absolutely mind blowing night. The kind of night that makes you wanna go on for ever
Krush have has a huge strong hold around the Shoreditch area, what is it about Shoreditch that makes for great partying?
We started out in Shoreditch and we’ve spend most of our time there cause its simply the epicenter of all things east. We have though taken Krush to other parts of Hackney or Hackney Wick. It’s the east end that we call home to our little project simply cause most of the people who can appreciate quality electronic music live there. That alone is good enough for anyone to want to be in the area
Did you have any inspiration leading into creating Krush?
Hmmm, we simply wanted to be in control of our Saturday night entertainment; and the only way to pull the strings is to do it yourself.
So essentially, Krush is all the people we love, all the music we love and a platform for experimenting with (what might be trivial to some but very important for us) things like the lights or occasionally the decoration of the venue. We simply design Krush as we want our perfect Saturday night out to be.
Your next event will take place in another one of your Secret Locations, what can you tell us about the venue?
The location will be announced very soon. It won’t be an east-London-central location but we chose it cause we loved the ambience. We feel that some venues, currently in Shoreditch, have been overused and we want to breath some fresh air in the whole project. We keep rolling so we don’t catch moss. Be alert then ’cause the location will air on our Facebook and Resident Advisor pages very soon
You have a huge line up for the ext event with Ame and Clockwork, what can we expect at the soiree?
Oh, Clockwork is the next generation of house mammoths. They’ve had an amazing two years with the hot Creation EP putting them on the spotlight; then came the Luca C & Dj T remixes to confirm what every one of us felt these two guys are worth. As djs they are extremely selective with what the do and where they play so we consider it an enormous honor the fact that they agreed to play for us. And then Ame, well that kinda goes without saying. But if I must say something, their resume is so so rich that you can all rest assured that it’ll be the kind of live act that blow your minds. Their live cd is also coming out pretty soon. Piecing the whole night together wasn’t easy but it was definitely worth the effort. And it’s selling really fast so… to all those who are thinking of coming down, you better get your ticket soon enough to avoid disappointment
If you had to pick your favourite line up for a Krush event, what would that be?
That’s very hard to tell and we don’t wanna say any names. Some of those dream team members are coming to play for us later on in the year; but now is not the right time to mention any names.
You also have a huge Sonar party to look forward to? Will you be taking the Shoreditch underground feel out there with you too?
That’s the idea. We can’t put it in a bottle and take it with us but by being there we will definitely try and spread that Krush and east London love.
Finally where would you like to see Krush in another years time?
Doing even bigger and better parties. Lights, music, people; the troika of our dreams.
