Moniker Art Fair returns to Shoreditch from 1 1 -14 October. Moniker 2012 is an installation based only edition, featuring designated artist project spaces combined with a commercial element. Each space will be individually curated presenting a twist to the traditional art fair format. As the contemporary and urban art worlds increasingly overlap Moniker has continued to evolve, resulting in the most diverse array of artists to be showcased at Moniker to date. Works range from the widely acclaimed Niels ‘Shoe’Meulman who’s art form fuses calligraphy and graffiti seamlessly, to Mark McClure’s abstract sculpture constructed from found materials through to the colourful world of Casey Gray whose paintings takes inspirations from that of 17 th century Flemish still life, urban culture and visuals associated with electronic music.
US legend from the pop surrealist movement, Luke Chueh, will present his ‘Template Series’. Working from outlines of his much-loved rabbit and bear characters Chueh will create a range of new paintings inspired by his London surroundings and inviting fellow Moniker 2012 artists and audience to participate.
