The BirdBuggy was created by University of Florida engineering student Andrew Gray to keep his parrot occupied and quiet. The vehicle is controlled by joystick that bird can move in 4 directions with its beak. It is also equipped with pump sensors and infrared coalition sensors to keep the bird from getting stuck. Once the bird is removed the BirdBuggy returns to a docking station utilizing a webcam.
Andrew Gray ‘ Birds name is Pepper. He had no idea how to ride it , I had to train him , use a lot of treats and he eventually picked it up after about 2 months. He uses it every other day for a couple of hours. He sometimes get frustrated because he is not very proficient in driving , but I think he enjoys it. I am trying to teach him how to turn right , he knows how to turn left, go backwards and forwards, but not right.’
