Business in Shoreditch: Interview with Indre Kulakauskaite Founder of The Soul Kitchen

G: Tell us about your business

I: We have several businesses within the team members and lots of ideas that we love to share with the likeminded or as we call them – the good people. We moved to London to bring our ideas to the whole new level and shared our new home in the Silicon Roundabout with entrepreneurs, artists, designers, business developers and start-ups who needed a place to stay in this area. This decision led us to our latest idea – The Soul Kitchen. This is an intimate space for the creative, crazy and courageous to relax, express their ideas and to interact with a small group of people from all over the world every night. They can come over for a dinner, for a creative problem solving session or to stay over for a night if they are only visiting London.

G: What is innovative / unique about what you do?

I: We created a more intimate social space for the entrepreneurs and creative people in the heart of Shoreditch. It is a welcoming space with great movies, music and good food where people can mix and interact with people from different backgrounds and this way to improve their ideas.

G: What would you say has been your most memorable experience while developing your business? What were the most successful or unique projects?

I: When we actually realized that we create value for people. This was when members of one startup stayed over for a couple of nights and had one deep problem within their company. We spend half of the night sharing our opinions and that night actually changed their attitude and helped to solve the problem quite quickly. We felt honored.

G: Why do you choose Shoreditch to run your business?

As we have our own full time businesses to run – this was the most convenient area to reach the people we needed and this way by accident we found out that this area attracts lots of people with similar attitudes towards life. We wanted to meet them all. This was how the Soul Kitchen was born.

G: What are your favorite places in Shoreditch?

We enjoy the book club as it is right on the corner from us, Kick bar, The Boundry, Meat Mission, Hoxton Square, The Box park and many more..

G: What does the future has in store for your business?

Now we want to expand this idea to a working living space for more people yet to save the intimacy and the mood. This will be a place where entrepreneurs can live, work and interact while they are visiting London. We are now searching for a space for it so if you know something like that – let us know.
