Outside Shoreditch: Vivi Mac – Speed Painting

French artist Vivi Mac uses a variety of food, drinks, aliments or even weeds to “speed paint” images of famous fictional characters, artists or historical figures.

With no formal art training, she now defines herself as a freelance artist. She appropriately calls her artwork “Art Ephemere” for their brief and temporary nature.

So far she has cleverly used barbecue sauce, milk, caramel sauce, crushed ice and salt, and wine in her creation. Vivi Mac also does pertinent choices of food and liquids according to the artist she’s painting, like painting Amy Whinehouse with red wine, or Bob Marley with cannabis leaves…

Yoda – chewing gum

Captain Jack Sparrow – Rum

Snoop Dogg – Weed buds

Yoda – Liquorice sweets

DSK – Condoms and milk
