G: Tell us about your business.

Azteco is a better way to get and use Bitcoin, the new way of paying for goods and services online, sending money around the world and alot of other things. We issue Bitcoin top up vouchers that put Bitcoin onto your mobile phone. Azteco vendors print out vouchers that are easy to use. They work exactly the same as the vouchers people use on the popular mobile phone networks.

We were inspired to start Azteco because Bitcoin is currently hard to buy. You have to wait weeks to set up an account, and when you have one, it can take days to get your Bitcoin. We make getting Bitcoin fast and easy. As easy as topping up your mobile.

The poor in many countries would benefit greatly from Azteco and Bitcoin. These two technologies will mean that the problems of the unbanked participating economically on the internet are solved. Azteco and Bitcoin also mean that donating charity to the third world becomes very much more efficient.

G: What is unique about what you do?

We take away all the complexity of using a Bitcoin wallet, and simplify using it so that you can just get what you want and do what you need to do, without having to learn about or use Bitcoin wallets. We also treat Bitcoin by its true nature; Bitcoin is not money, it is a new way of moving information securely from Alice to Bob, and accounting for it, without a third party.

G: What would you say has been your most memorable experience while developing your business? What were the most successful or unique projects?

The most memorable experience has been watching people who previously thought that Bitcoin was money, start to understand that Bitcoin is not money, as we have said all along. The most successful projects are yet to come, and… we are unique!

G: Why do you choose Shoreditch to run your business?

The rent is cheap, the food is good, the people are nice. Its the way the Kings Road used to be in the early 1980s.

G: Who/what are your favourite CEOs/Businesses in Shoreditch?

Tokyo Bike, Shoreditch Studios, Akin Clothes Store (!)

G: What are your favourite places in Shoreditch?

Hawksmoor, myriad drinking spots, that new insanely attractive chocolate shop.

G: What does the future has in store for your business?

Thousands of outlets opened, millions in Bitcoin transferred, and many many people helped.
