New Single By Jingo – The Winners Of Made In Shoreditch: Music Factory

We are happy to announce the new single ‘When You Want Me’ by the winners of Made in Shoreditch: Music Factory competition. Here is what Jack from Jingo had to say about it:

“This single, ‘When You Want Me’ came about as a result of winning Made in Shoreditch’s Music Factory competition last November and it gave us a fantastic opportunity to record in one of London’s finest studios, Strongrooms. The whole experience was a great one and we’re thrilled with the results. If only we could record some more there.

The song takes a slightly different approach musically than what we’ve previously put out (you can find our previous releases here: https://soundcloud.com/jingomusic) with the addition of some bizarre vocal effects, a lot more structural repetition than usual and the use of some new instruments, most notably, the rhodes piano. However, we’ve still kept the song dark and done are best to give it a thumping beat with some catchy guitar and vocal hooks.
The lyrical content of the song goes along the lines of how it is a fundamental thing in human nature to have expectations for something more, even when your current situation is the best it could be. Ie. you always want something more even when you have everything you need. When you do want something, as soon as you get it, you’re on to the next thing you love. In love, in career aspirations, in money, it doesn’t matter what it is. people are insatiable. In some ways you think it will bring you some means to an end but really its a vicious cycle of expectation”
