Wasted Chic – The Newest Addition To London’s Vibrant Pop Up Retail Culture

Born out of exclusive clothing sale parties in private homes, Wasted Chic feels like a vibrant hybrid of a sample sale, a magical market and an amazing night out. In the creative hub of Shoreditch, picked for its accessibility and stylish atmosphere; award winning cocktail bar McQueen provides the perfect backdrop to shop comfortably and sociably in a luxe setting.

Vendors at the sale range from ‘shh don’t tell anyone where I got it’ cutting edge designers (for both men & women) and individual fashionistas/stylists with desirable wardrobes they are clearing out, creating a truly multidimensional retail experience. The designers and vendors are selected for their variety, style and best of all affordability; (prices are capped at £100) alongside one off sample items going for next to nothing prices.Tirade 13, Typical Freaks, Double Barrel and Maison 20 are just a handful of the home grown East London talent selling coveted items from their latest collections.

For the beauty junkies Bang Bang Nails pop up bar and official Brits 2014/Glastonbury/Loveboxstyle gurus; Sort Yourself Out Love will be on hand offering makeovers, advice and insider tips. Disguised Technology are also selling a selection of quirky and beautiful gadget covers for smart phones, tablet devices and e-readers.

Shoppers will be treated to a selection of grooves from special guest DJ tech house pioneer D. Ramirez, plusShoreditch favourites Belle & Bex (Zombie Soundsystem) and Chloe Fontaine (Resident at The Kings Head Members Club) spinning the finest in disco and deep house, plus special offers on McQueen’s delicious cocktails.

Wasted Chic’s creator American born (now East end based) Alexandra Houston is a boundary breaking, fresh thinking entrepreneur with a colourful background in fashion PR, styling and costume design for a variety of household names including global nightclub brand Pacha in Miami and New York.

Alexandra’s return to London resulted in the creation of Wasted Chic after she held several successful sales in her apartment after the demand for involvement from friends and industry colleagues became larger than her front room.

Alexandra says: “London’s clued‐up shoppers are looking beyond the high street for unique fashion gems and new ways of keeping ahead of the trends, we are ready and excited to provide an fun, friendly and sociable alternative to the traditional hunt for those special, inspirational pieces that make you feel a million dollars”.
