A bustling indoor market where you find can find the best bargains on clothes, vintage handbags, music, artwork and unique items for your home. The market also sells second hand books and antique as well dozens of arts and crafts supplies. There are also organic food stalls running alongside established restaurants like Leon and Galvin La Chappelle. The market runs from Monday to Friday and on Sundays.
Though only occupying a small part of Hoxton St this market attracts a lot of attention from locals with fresh food and vegetables on sale as well as quirky clothes stalls and homeware for those looking for that special find. It’s open from Monday to Saturday but most of the action usually takes place on a Saturday. With plenty of galleries and eateries in the area this is perfect to have a little peruse around in after a day looking at art or Saturday brunch.

Another famous Sunday market this is the place to go for clothes for women, men and children as well as household goods, bric-a-brac stalls and everything else under the sun. Traders will be selling last years designer goods as well as the latest street wear. The market is also famous for their leather goods. With over a 1,000 stalls this is London’s best street market with bargains sure to entice every shopper. Open from 9am to 3pm.
Smithfield’s Meat Market
Another very well known market is Smithfield’s Meat Market ( also known by its professional name of London Central Markets ) which sells meat and meat alone. Though it’s wholesale the public can also buy from here and you can find all types of meat here such as beef, pork,, game, veal, goat , mutton and chicken from across the globe as well as sausages and cooked meats. Its open Monday to Fridays and we advise getting there early, not when it opens at 3am, but around 7am before it gets too busy . Trading usually stops around mid morning.
Billingsgate Fish Market
Another wholesale market that is open to the public. Billingsgate has the biggest selection of fish on sale from the UK and across the world. With daily deliveries you can have your pick of fresh or frozen fish to take home. Fish products and cooking oils as well as other miscellaneous products are on sale. The market also provides specialist restaurant and catering supplies. It’s open Tuesday to Saturday from 4am to 9.30am.
