FiftyThree, a US-based company that develops apps and tools to bring ideas and creativity to life, is today launching its smart stylus ‘Pencil’ in Europe. Designed to work with its award-winning iPad app ‘Paper’, Pencil is the latest in FiftyThree’s suite of tools for digital creativity for both work and play. Available to buy from today from Amazon UK, Germany and France, Pencil is a blend of advanced technology and crafted design and comes in two models—’Walnut’ made from sustainable hardwood and ‘Graphite’ in brushed aluminium.

With the release of Pencil, FiftyThree has created a simple and powerful hardware accessory that perfectly complements its debut app Paper – named iPad App of the Year by Apple. The easiest and most expressive way to create on the iPad, Paper is a digital whiteboard and sketchpad, which lets users write, draw and design and then send creations to friends and colleagues, or share across the web. When connected to Paper, Pencil gives users access to unique, expressive features.

According to Georg Petschnigg, CEO and Co-Founder of FiftyThree over 100 million designs have been made in Paper and the app has over 10 million downloads, entrepreneurs like Jack Dorsey and Mike McCue capturing their business ideas, filmmakers drawing storyboards for their movies; Giles Deacon using it to sketch fashion designs; and teachers who use it to enhance lessons and encourage creativity in the classroom.
