Interview With The Founders Of EweMove Hackney

01

Tell us about your business: What do you do? What did inspire you to start this business?

We do sales and lettings of residential properties. Being really passionate about the property market and after being a property consultant for a while we decided we had enough of the bad reputation estate agents have in the capital and were sure things could be done differently, in a way that would challenge and improve the way the business is viewed.

What is unique about your business offering? Why clients should choose you?

We pride ourselves on delivering the best customer service you could find. We will always put our clients first with an honest, knowledgeable service. Ewemove has a eweniquely fantastic system that allows people to connect with us 24/7 to book viewings, place offers, apply or pay for properties both on –line or over the phone, which means we’re always there for you and your needs! This increase enables us to choose the highest quality tenants resulting in reduced rent issues, increased landlord retention, lower void periods and above average tenancy length (almost double the UK average). Something we found differentiates us from most agencies in the area is the fact that we don’t charge tenants for applying for a property, which means more people are likely to apply and landlords can choose for a larger pool of rigorously vetted and referenced applicant. This also makes us successful in collecting 99% of all rents on our properties!

Why did you choose East London to launch this business?

I’ve always lived around Hackney and Shoreditch and know the area like the back of my hand. I’ve seen it growing and changing the same way I’ve grown and changed over the years, I feel I have a special link with it. It’s inspiring to see how this is happening just before my eyes, and how the old is mixing with the new. That’s the beauty of east London!

Is there anything special about property market in Shoreditch?

The area has gone through a lot of changes due to gentrification, and the boom of tech and media companies all around the area. This has driven the market up and it has been booming for the past few years. Although it is slowing down slightly compared to a year ago, it’s still going amazingly strong!

What are your favorite places in Shoreditch?

We love all the new cocktail bars and speakeasies that have been popping up recently, our favourite is probably Happiness Forgets in Hoxton Square. Food-wise it’s really hard to decide, but we recently had some really good fish at Simply Fish in the Boxpark. We also like to have our morning meetings at Breakfast Club sometimes.

What does the future has in store for your company?

We aim at becoming the first choice sales and letting agency in East London!
