Colouring inside the lines: British illustrator releases second adult colouring book

Who said adults can’t color? Certainly not us! British illustrator Johanna Basford recently released her second book, Enchanted Forest: An Inky Quest & Colouring Book, after the success of her first book, Secret Garden. Her newest book features 60 illustrations of whimsical creatures and sights, almost as if you are in a fairytale land. Though perhaps that’s the point, as it’s inspired by the woodlands around her grandparents’ house on the Isle of Arran in Aryshire where she would play in the mystical yet playful forrest. Her first book sold over a million copies to adult coloring-lovers around the world and was translated into 14 different languages. But don’t let the child-like title fool you, Basford is quickly taking the world by storm with her fanciful illustrations, already having collaborated with brands like Abolut Vodka, Nike, Sony, and even the Tate Modern. Opting for illustrations, Basford feels her drawings capture the energy and warmth she wanted her characters to be depicted as, something she feels couldn’t be accomplished by computer graphics. You can find her newest book for sale on Amazon- happy coloring!
