Charcoal Drawings By Levi Van Veluw

Levi Van Veluw is a Dutch contemporary artist who specialises in portraits that are both drawn and photographed by himself. During this one-man-process, Levi creates art with extreme levels of detail as he modifies the object, combining it with other stylistic elements to create additional visual objects. Not only does Levi draw and photograph, but also videos, sculptures and installs his imaginative perspectives of architectural shapes. It is through this multidisciplinary approach that Levi is able to manipulate everyday objects into a range of different visual perceptions. His work can be found in the Ron Mandos Gallery in Amsterdam and includes his most recent series of charcoal drawings, which are characterized by the great contrast between light and shadow areas.
