Science Inspired Knitwear

Science and fashion are not usually two domains that cooccur, however since its launch in 2009, Brooke Roberts is a fashion brand set out to change all things knitwear for optimal comfort and practicality (another two rarely factors that rarely cooccur!) The eponymous label was founded by qualified radiographer and knitwear designer Brooke Roberts. Brooke’s innovative designs use new digital knitting techniques that are translated from digital medical scans to utilise pioneering programming, the end product being industrial knitwear.

The sector of technology-based fashion is a rapidly expanding one, as our technological advancements continue at an unstoppable rate, from the Apple watch dominating jewellery, and built-in bag chargers dominating accessories, the knitwear industry is wide open, and waiting for Brooke’s take over. Her TED talk explained how her unique designs reflect the fashion/tech movement and go more into detail about the types of creative minds that go into inventing new methods of radiography-led fashion design. Brooke explains how her clients are “dynamic, forward-thinking individuals who are curious and seek to learn something new every day.”
