Long Beach Museum of Art in California recently opened its doors to street artists for its new project “Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape”. The project involves a selected group of artists who were exploring urban art outside their studio, or branching out from their studio to the street and gave them free reign on what to decorate the museum’s walls with. The aim of the project is to curate both traditional and non-traditional artwork to enjoy the variety of street art and monitor its changes. Executive Director, Ron Nelson explains the importance of this ephemeral event, “Once the exhibition ends, the walls will be repainted and prepared for the next exhibition. Therefore, it is important for art enthusiasts to see this amazing exhibition before it closes.”
The exhibit will run through September 27, 2015.
