Wide Open by The Chemical Brothers ft. Beck

The Chemical Brothers’ collaboration with Beck, “Wide Open” from last year’s album Born In The Echoes, was dawned a recently released a music video featuring dancer Sonoya Mizuno turning into a synthetic structure. Director pair Dom & Nic created an elegant CGI visual to gradually turn her human skin into a net-like surface.

Each camera angle was very much intentional, to heighten the movement of the dancer and allow her to seamlessly transition into a different being. Set in a simple warehouse with minimal set change, the music video is about the choreography as well as the relationship between the camera and the subject. It was obvious the amount of thought and time that was taken to create this masterpiece.
