Painting and dance combine in new music video “Disco”

Music and paintings are two art forms that are very rarely combined. In Berlin-based filmmaker Boris Seewald‘s new video, he composed over 1,250 paintings on tape for German electronic music producer, Ralf Hildenbeutel.

The song titled “Disco” consists of synthy beats and electronic sounds. It’s paired with painted images and sketches of dancers in the video moving to the rhythm of the fast-paced song, almost as if they were in a choreographed performance. Each painting morphs into the next creating a sense of motion through time and space. The lyric-less song calls attention to the visual aesthetics and provides a unique multi-sensory experience.
