Preferred Mode: New York Bike Style has been made into a book, blog, and other social media accounts. Photographer and cyclist Sam Polcer created this collection of photographs to show how New Yorkers prefer to take bikes over cars.
The portraits show the diverse culture of New York and the common interest that ties them together: cycling. Every person and bicycle is different. The photos also are taken in different places in the cyclists’ everyday lives. The colorful and fun photos showcase the cyclists personalities. In a huge city, they find a way to make it their own.
