This April, Andrew Millar will be featured in a solo exhibition at the Curious Duke Gallery. Vintage looking Polaroids are combined with beautiful gold leaf to create black and gold collage transparencies.
The newest collection of the Polaroid transparency artist is called Chasing Ghosts, celebrating black and gold. Millar creates collaged images by laying 24 Ct. gold leaf in between the the layers of film in one Polaroid. He makes each image to its own soundtrack. As a result, the images have an ethereal or ghostly element.
The quality in which the Polaroid collages are made shows brilliantly. Millar’s photos have a mysterious feel that makes you want to know more.
