Milo Gore started as a collaboration between friends from Falmouth University in Cornwall. If you are a fan of Sam Fender, The Strokes, The Hunna, and/ or Blossoms, this should be your cup of tea!
They have just shared the tear-jerking music video for their song ‘Green Eyes’. The single features on their forthcoming anticipated album How Do You Cope While Grieving For The Living? which is set for release in August 2020.

Tell us about your band, how long have you guys been performing together? What inspired you to start?
Our band is actually made up of solo artists, who banded together under our shared ideology that we’re ‘stronger together’. We all have our side projects, but having all met at Falmouth University around 4 years ago in Cornwall, we slowly found ourselves coming together, writing together and playing together. We found we all had reasonably similar musical tastes, but more than that, we all had such a huge drive and passion for music. Through this, we cemented our friendship, and well the rest is history! Here we are 4 years later! This is just the beginning, we have so much more to come.
Music industry is super competitive these days, was there a moment in your life that you wanted to give up on music / band? How did you manage to stay focused and achieve what you want?
It’s so, so hard. Especially at the moment! We were meant to be on tour from 30th April – 10th May! Sadly we had to postpone everything.. We still don’t know when live music will be back. It’s a very dark time for the industry. I think it’s been really hard for us as a small band just starting out, 2020 was meant to be our big year! It’s really hard promoting/selling an album from your sofa, ya know? It’s definitely harder now, as the internet is so saturated. It’s awesome for the fans, but it’s really difficult to get your content out there when you’re having to do it alongside other huge artists, who are all doing the same thing! There are only so many live-streams one can do. HOWEVER! We are staying positive! Yes, quarantine has been hard, especially when we haven’t had the chance to isolate together and make music, but thank God for Zoom hey!! There ain’t no way we’re giving up on this just yet! As I said before, our time is only just beginning! With a debut album on the way, we’re gonna give this dream our everything.
How would you describe your creative processes? Who writes the lyrics to the songs? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately? Where does the inspiration come from?
This album is all about love, loss, Milo’s battle with drug addiction, and his fight against mental health. With everything very centered around those themes, Milo took the lead when it came to the writing. The majority of the songs started out with more of a singer-songwriter feel, with Milo playing the songs on an acoustic guitar. However, once he’d come up with the foundation, he’d then bring it to the band.. and that’s when the magic really starts! With each band member having their own individual style, and preferred genre when it comes to adding to the track, it’s super fun. We often jam the track all together, until something clicks, and then we work around that.
Having said that, I don’t think there is a specific or preferred creative process! I would just say, if it feels forced and unnatural, then it’s not us. We like our music raw. We want it to make our fans feel something real.
What’s your favourite track from the latest album and what other bands/artists are you listening to right now?
Ooh that is a tough question! So many of the songs mean so much to us. However, I’d have to say the song ‘Noise Gone Dancing’ is definitely one of the band favorites. It’s a really fun song to play, and I think because we had such a fun time recording it, it’s really stuck with all of us. It will actually be coming out as one of our singles later this year too!
There are so many amazing up and coming artists at the moment, but here are a few we’ve been listening to recently.. Kid Kapichi, Junodream, Aaran Daniel, and of course Flowers Of Palo, who have just released an absolute killer of an EP, it was actually mixed and mastered by our guitarist Kieran! Definitely check out all those names! Such awesome music, and even nicer people!
What gig did you enjoy the most so far? Why?
Hmm, so far I’d have to say our best gigs have always fallen in Bristol. Having started our musical careers in Cornwall and the South-West, we have built up a decent following down that way. Gigs down that way are crazy! I think when we sold out Mother’s Ruin in Bristol last December, that was so much fun. It was packed, and everyone was vibing together. It was a special moment.
