Independent Scottish craft brewer BrewDog has pulled out all of the stops for their latest opening, a 60-tap craft beer destination for central London. An immersive BrewDog experience is ready to take centre stage in the rejuvenation of Waterloo Station.
At 26,500sq ft in size, BrewDog Waterloo is over twice the size of their previous largest location, DogTap Columbus in Ohio. With a capacity of 1,775 people spread across two floors, the bar is a short walk from the platforms of one of the UK’s busiest stations.
On the bar’s opening day, Thursday 18th August, two lucky customers will win a trip to the opening of BrewDog Las Vegas. The following day prize of free beer for a year will be up for grabs and on Saturday 20th August at 8pm special guests The Futureheads will be playing an exclusive live set.
BrewDog will be the first to open its doors to a physical location and a digital twin location simultaneously, in the meta-verse. Those unable to attend in person or looking to preview BrewDog Waterloo before a visit can experience it virtually first. Customers will be able to host meetings and make friends virtually, from wherever they are in the world.
With 60 taps of craft beer on offer, BrewDog Waterloo will be an oasis for central London; with the bar’s on-site brewhouse creating a range of bespoke classics. The house beer, brewed on site, ‘Trainspotter’ will be available on keg in Waterloo or can be taken away for the train in a freshly-filled crowler can.
A new icon is born in this BrewDog bar, in the form of a slide going from one floor to the next, with a sign on entry to the slide stating ‘No head firsts, no drinks, no two at a time’ and when exiting the slide, ‘growing up is optional’.
BrewDog is also collaborating with multi-award winning bartender, writer and presenter ‘The Cocktail Guy’ Rich Woods on a very different kind of Lost Property Office; Waterloo’s cocktail hideaway. The signature experience of the Lost Property Office will be a ‘Martini Roulette’, a trio of miniature martinis, identical in size and colour, but showcasing the evolution of the iconic drink through a timeline of cocktail history. These exceptional cocktails will also showcase the spirits crafted by the BrewDog Distilling Co.
BrewDog Waterloo will be offering an extensive range of food options, including oak-fired chicken, Neapolitan pizza made fresh from the wood-fired pizza oven and the brewer’s full menu of loaded burgers, wings and pizza. London legends Grind will be on hand for bottomless brunch, coffee and full breakfasts. Hackney Gelato meets punk with an epic BrewDog collaboration, a Jet Black Heart gelato. One of the many creations served from the old-school ice cream truck.
Other features will include quiet call pods named ‘Zoom Rooms’ and a free-use co-working area, with tables that turn into ping pong tables after hours, duckpin bowling lanes (kids bowl free with a paying adult), and After the Rain; a not-for-profit florist supporting the London Development Trust.
James Watt, Captain of BrewDog, said: “London has supported us since the very beginning, so whether you live in the capital, work in the city or are just visiting, get ready for the biggest BrewDog Bar on Earth. Minutes from the landmarks, moments from the platforms, great beer and food are seconds away.
This is one of our most exciting bar creations and a true reflection to where our brand is heading. Wait for your train as you sip a bar exclusive beer, brewed onsite, Trainspotter.”
