Interstellar Composer Olovson releases ‘The Beginning’ Single

Boundless LA-based composer Jacob Olofsson a.k.a. Olovson released his latest single ‘The Beginning’ on the 17th of March. He will also be unveiling a brand-new album, Eternalism, later this year via his imprint 1136 Diamond. The single has been mixed with the cutting-edge spatial audio technology Dolby Atmos to enrich the cosmic theme of the record. The composer’s music has earned notable support from industry publications PopMatters, Creative Boom, CLASH Magazine, Rolling Stone India, METAL Magazine, NOTION Magazine, and Stereofox among others. On the radio, it has aired on BBC Radio 3 with Hannah Peel and BBC Radio 6 with Nemone, helping him reach over 1.5 million streams on his Spotify top 10 alone.

In ‘The Beginning’, composer Olovson paints the sky with twinkling piano motifs reminiscent of Philip Glass, Gabríel Ólafs, or maybe even Òlafur Arnalds. Fantastical choral harmonies orbit him whilst he runs his hands across the ivory keys, and we drift through the night sky, cradled by the whimsical mood, lost beneath melodious constellations.

His single ‘Books Are Flying’ was featured in the SHOWTIME series The Man Who Fell to Earth, while the video for his single, ‘Gyroscope’ (original) was included in the official selections for BAFTA qualifying festivals Encounters Film Festival, London International Film Festival, and the London Short Film Festival

Originating from Stockholm, Sweden, Olovson currently counts Los Angeles as his home. His new style draws references from nostalgic, romantic classical pieces blended with Swedish Folk melodies to the free and improvised moments of Jazz. He is a Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling producer who has worked with artists and industry mammoths such as Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Silk City and Camila Cabello.
