New Supper Club at Mama Shelter London with Gemma Ogston

Mama Shelter London Shoreditch , the dynamic and playful hotel which is a part of the high-energy Mama Shelter global portfolio, has launched ‘Mama’s Kitchen Table’; a monthly series of supper clubs which will see a new guest chef grace Mama’s kitchen to share heart-warming homecooked recipes. Each guest will create their bespoke menu in partnership with Mama Shelter London Shoreditch’s Executive Chef, James Green.

Mama Shelter London Shoreditch is a truly inclusive urban refuge that is not only beautiful and modern, but also flamboyant, friendly and sexy, championing diversity at every opportunity. Each supper club will centre around cross-cultural key seasonal hooks, including Black History month, Thanksgiving and Lunar New Year to name a few, furthering the inclusive intention which sits central to Mama Shelter London Shoreditch’s mission.

‘Mama’s Kitchen Table’ Supper Club series – taking place in the heart of the action, within Mama’s open-kitchen – will promote transparency and intimacy, bridging the gap between chef and guest, providing the perfect evening for relaxed yet lively get-togethers in the hotel’s buzzy and vibrant atmosphere, and allowing guests to share the pure joy of homemade cooking.

The series will kick off with Mama’s Gem Supper Club on 26th, 27th and 28th September, with BBC Saturday Kitchen regular, published recipe author and vegan legend, Gemma Ogston, bringing her Gem’s Wholesome Kitchen concept to Shoreditch for an eight-course foodie extravaganza. Priced at £69 per person including service charge, Gem’s eight-course vegan menu offers a series of mood-boosting, plant-based, high-vibe homemade dishes that celebrate ingredients with healing resources, alongside a complimentary welcome drink.

Set to nourish the soul, Gem’s eight-course menu kicks off the evening with Home-made Seeded Bread with whipped miso butter and Rayo oil with kimchi, before moving onto a Miso & Ginger Consommé with tofu crisp, kombu seaweed flakes, udon noodles and kale. Next up, guests can tuck into a Truffle Mushroom Paté on sourdough bruschetta, with sun-dried tomato chutney and a dressed micro cress salad for a mouthful of sunshine, while her Tumeric & Yuzu Gazpacho with peach salad and toasted sunflower seeds will pack a flavourful punch,

Star of the show and taken straight from her new cookbook – The Healing Cookbook – launching in September, is her infamous Cauliflower Tacos, made with the zingiest Southeast Asian mango salsa and whipped avocado hass with maple syrup. Refresh your palate with a Lemongrass Granita with Thai basil oil and crushed avocado, before indulging in a fun and fruity Pineapple Upside-down using vegan Chantilly and roasted pineapple puree, and a rich Dark Chocolate Pot with poached cherries and chia seeds for that gut-loving, mouth-watering cocoa fix.

Be the first to try Gem’s delicious dishes ahead of the launch of ‘The Healing Cookbook: Nourishing plant-based recipes to help you feel better and stay well,’ due on bookshop shelves this Autumn.
