Cabinets of Curiosities: virtual windows connect retailers and emerging talent for London Design Festival / Shoreditch Design Triangle

18 – 26 September 2021, Redchurch Street, E2

Cabinets of Curiosities are back on Redchurch Street!

Redchurch Street shop fronts will host Cabinets of Curiosities as part of the Shoreditch Design Triangle programme. A trail of cabinets showcases the work of local artists, fashion and jewelry designers and creative community groups, in some of the Street’s best-loved shops, cafes and bars.

Each stop has a vinyl window ‘cabinet’, with a graphic representation of new talent and a QR code to allow visitors to discover more about both participants and their hosts.

onRedchurch has coordinated this project to showcase the breadth of our creative community, from independent designers to community groups exploring art and design as a way to form deep-rooted connections. Visitors thus help celebrate and uplift those who make Shoreditch a celebrated creative hotspot.

Participants include: community organisations Rich Mix and Oitij-Jo; fashion designers Carla Palazzo and Revive; jewellery designers Meta and Rachel Entwistle; artists Stephen Ritter, Victor van de Wiele and Arma Works; and creative co-designers, CO ‘X.

The cabinets can be found in the windows of Sweaty Betty, Aime, Kite, Anatome, Earl of East, Timothy Everest, Allpress, Rachel Entwistle, Franze & Evans and Owl & Pussycat. A special event billed as “an evening of jean mending and gin tasting” will take place on Tuesday 21 September, when the Owl & Pussycat hosts ‘Gin & Jeans’ with Plymouth Gin and Revive. Teresa, from Revive, will teach simple embroidery and mending techniques that you can apply to your denim, to give it a new shot of life. This is a ticketed event, for more info see:
