Taste of Christmas, The Hottest Restaurant Festival of the Season returns this November with a fresh new feel, new restaurants and a brand new location. Moving to the enchanting Tobacco Dock, the venue will be transformed from 21st – 24th November 2013 to welcome a line-up of London’s most exciting restaurants, foodie entertainment and a boutique Christmas food market for what is set to be the stand-out culinary event of the festive season.
Passionate foodies will be able to taste incredible signature dishes from some of London’s hottest restaurants, with a bigger and better line-up that includes several new restaurants to the festival. Bringing a Spanish flair will be the innovative Ametsa with Arzak Instruction, as well as Old Street favourite Beard to Tail and gastro pub The Truscott Arms. Pop-up maestros Disco Bistro will make their Taste of Christmas debut, featuring dishes from a number of their restaurants including Disco Bistro, The English Laundrette and Rock Lobsta at Mahiki, while The Hix Group will showcase dishes from Tramshed, Hix Soho and Hix Chophouse and the Salt Yard Group.
Alongside these exciting new additions will be a selection of Taste favourites including the Michelin starred Benares, Pascal Aussignac’s Club Gascon and the award-winning Indian The Cinnamon Club. There will be festive inspiration aplenty with a stellar line-up of top chefs putting their individual twists on Christmas classics in the Electrolux Taste Theatre. First up, is Mr River Cottage himself, passionate foodie and house-hold favourite Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall who will be cooking up some mouth-watering festive favourites and sharing his top seasonal tips. Making her Taste of Christmas debut will be Le Gavroche Sous chef Monica Galetti, while her boss, the world-famous Michel Roux Jr will also make a welcome return to the festival. Foodies can also look forward to live demos and cook-offs from the celebrated chef and restaurateur Mark Hix, quintessentially English fair from Valentine Warner, top TV chef Gizzi Erskine and French pâtissier Eric Lanlard who is sure to please foodies with a keen sweet-tooth with a masterclass on the finest festive puds.
If it’s Christmas gifts visitors are after, the Christmas Food and Drink Market will provide gift inspiration for even the trickiest of recipients. With over 180 fine food and boutique food and drink stalls from the finest chocolate and confectionary, to seasonal ingredients and wines, festive shoppers will find all they need to create the perfect Christmas.
Foodies will be able to indulge their senses with outstanding array of cheese and chocolate tastings, sample the finest whiskeys in the dark, and learn the culinary secrets of the experts in the interactive Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets. And if all the culinary delights take their toll, guests can take a break and relax in style in the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Bar.
