This Chinese New Year, The Gantry Hotel in Stratford is the ultimate place to celebrate, with an exciting special offer at the recently launched pop up dumpling and noodle bar, Mama Chen’s. From Wednesday 18th until Sunday 22nd January, Mama Chen’s will be decorating the ground floor of the hotel with Chinese lanterns and offering customers special giveaways and authentic dishes to celebrate the new Lunar Year. The concise menu pays homage to Chef Michelle Liu’s grandmother’s cooking and features a selection of dim sum, including the traditional Chinese chive & prawn dumplings, prawn & pork wontons with Mama Chen’s chilli oil, and green panda vegetable dumplings; all priced at £6.50 for 4 dumplings. Wonton Soups and Noodles are also a speciality, with favourites including spicy noodles coated with Mama Chen’s crunchy garlic and szechuan oil (£6.50). Sides include a tangy smacked cucumber salad (£4.50) and Tofu puffs with shiitake mushroom & garlic sriracha (£4.50). As a Chinese New Year special, prawn siu mai dumplings will be available, along with free buns gifted with every whole shebang dumpling feast for two order (£43.50).
