This Friday in Shoreditch – Black Light White Light

Ailing from Copenhagen, Black Light White Light is pure bohemian 60’s psych-rock with a sultry, Scandinavian twist, all packed with pop melodies drowned in a dirty wash of reverb and tremolo. The band formed in 2009 around singer/guitarist Martin Ejlertsen, who is surrounded by brothers Adam Winberg (drums) and Tobias Winberg (bass/guitar) and live as well Jesper Van Rasmussen (bass).Black Light White Light released its debut album “Infrared Daylight” in September 2011 on the band’s own imprint, Record Records.

The album shows a solid grounded inspiration in the 1960’s American psychedelic rock from bands like The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane and The Seeds. The LP also boasts a penchant for the ‘Madchester’ sound and it wanders comfortably along the same musical paths fellow acts like The Black Angels, The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre have previously undertaken.
