Nanny Network – The childcare agency born in Hackney, has just celebrated its second birthday and are preparing to launch a new babysitting service, which will enable parents to book a babysitter from their mobile phones.
Nanny Network was started in 2011 by Lucia Borraccino aged just 25, while she herself was working as a Nanny. Nanny Network began with no funding or finance and has placed over 250 Nannies, whilst being the first and only childcare agency in the area. Parents also were frequently enquiring about babysitting and so the new service ‘www.bookababysitter.co.uk’ was created.
Nanny Network takes a fresh approach to childcare – the gentrification of East London has meant many new parents in the area need a huge amount of flexibility as many do not work conventional 9-5 hours. Therefore, the childcare provided, needs to be able to meet the changing requirements and sometimes unpredictable work day. Also with the exceptional choices facing people, in terms of evening entertainment across East London with a forever expanding number of restaurants, bars and cinemas the babysitting service is already very popular.
Nanny Network is giving back to the community of East London as well, as it also provides jobs throughout the region. This is a hugely positive aspect of the business as it is helps to tackle the masses of unemployment, which currently exists throughout the area.

Lucia remains true and loyal to her Hackney roots as she provides cheaper prices to parents living in the borough of Hackney over the rest of London. “Nanny Network was conceived in East London, and this is still our home. We are expanding to connect parents with childcare across London but will ensure cheaper prices for Hackney parents.”
