The Shoreditch Fashion Show on Saturday, 27th April is not just a fashion show but will also include fashion illustrations, projections, photography, installations and designs from both current and past students from the world’s most renowned fashion colleges. The artists featured are Tagen Donovan, Samuel Mensah, Louise O’Keeffe, Kelly Bromfield, Dominic Evans, Dalphine Perrot, Chris Seddon, and Catherine Laura.
Tagen Donovan is a freelance artist living in London. Tagen’s own personal style is a combination of a variety of topics together, such as fantasy and nostalgia. Taking influence from the fluid new visual and digital age of the 2010?s – Tagen began to mix an abundance of dated visual context with ‘over the top’ and decadent layers. Her work has been described as:”Hollywood on speed’.
Samuel Mensah is currently in his final year of University at LCC studying graphic design. He also has creative backgrounds in illustration, photography and typography. He is the founder of his design studio “Some Must Believe” which began in 2010.
Louise O’Keeffe graduated at London College of Fashion in fashion illustration. She is very interested in character and identity and tries to portray a sense of personality through her artwork. She has experience illustrating for The Future Vintage Magazine, Vauxhall Fashion Scout and has interned at Victoria Grant Millinery.
Kelly Bromfield is a fashion, print and textile designer based in the UK. Since graduating in Fashion Design at UCA, Epsom, she has focused mainly on print design. She creates unique and recognisable prints from nonconventional imagery, her own abstract photography and illustration. When illustrating, she will use variations of contrasting media, usually combining detailed drawings with a bold and stylised use of ink and marker pen.
Dominic Evans is an illustrator. His work is a playful mix of word and image with a dash of humour. When not tending to his quiff, he produces: posters, hand-illustrated type, books, comic strips, patterns, apparel, and editorial work. His clients include the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, for whom he produces the ‘Lates’ posters for every month.
Delphine Perrot is an art director, graphic designer, artist, and illustrator working in the fields of digital media, photography and live performance. Her work takes inspiration from her numerous travels and is expressive, bold and colorful.
Chris Seddon is a Graphic Artist and Designer. A graduate of the MA Communication Arts Course at Central Saint Martins, Chris’ work is a dynamic mixture of expressive mark-making and loose abstraction that manages to blur the boundaries between fine art, graphic design and illustration.
Catherine Laura is an underwater, fashion and portrait photographer based in the UK. She has a whimsical style that combines her love of fashion for her zeal for the underwater world. She finds inspiration in the Pre-Raphaelite and Romantic Movement giving her work a distinct paint-like quality. Catherine Laura draws upon folklore and myths to create narratives and themes, which enable her to bring to life fantasy worlds that only exist through her lens.
