What are the biggest challenges for wearable tech industry?

I think that the biggest challenges are building devices that consumers will use and accept in the same way that mobile phones are. Plus there are a lot of issues surrounding battery life, size and the design of the products which need to be resolved.

How important is the fashion factor for the industry?
Form factor is probably the key selling point for any wearable device that wants to get consumers excited about it. Additionally, fashion shows across the world are starting to see more wearable adaptations, like Twitter dresses and navigational jackets.

What are the most important and the most innovative players in the industry?
Google, Intel and innovative startups like Misfit Wearables are leading the way in developing new wearable devices.

Which wearable tech products do you like the most and which product do you thing will be a game changer in terms of mass adaptation?
The single most anticipated device is probably Apple’s rumoured iWatch, but right now I think that the Shine – an activity tracker – is one of the best products available currently.

What the future holds for the industry and your company?
This is a sector that is really set to grow. Analysts expect the wearable technology sector to be worth up to £15 billion within the next ten years, and as the only show for wearable technology in the UK, I think we are well set to lead the revolution.

What can we expect in the conference?
This will be the biggest event ever seen dedicated to wearable technology. Over 100 speakers are taking part in the conference and with up to 40 products to see on the show floor, if you are interested in wearable technology, then you should come to the show.
