Fresh thinking deep house and future disco label Chromoza Recordings are one! Iconic underground music venue Zigfrid von Underbelly on Hoxton Square will play host to the celebrations with DJʼs starting at 20:30 continuing until 03:00, with the limited edition Chromoza Kick cocktail for sale at just £5 each all night Spinning on the night will be members of the ever growing Chromoza Familia from all over Europe.
The confirmed special guest DJ is vinyl aficionado, Ibiza resident and all round industry legend/good guy Dave Lubin. The brains behind the multi-faceted Mental Genius brand, Dave is currently enjoying some well deserved success with the roadblock launch party of Mental Genius at Shoreditch club Concrete plus a guest appearance alongside Hot Creations at Egg London. His debut single ʻThis is Mental Geniusʼ includes a remix from Jason Bye and is set for release on 31st March. Championed by many including Richie Hawtin, Paul Oakenfold, and Him Self Her. After taking centre stage at the Birthday, Dave will be jetting straight back to Ibiza for the Mental Genius opening party at Sankeyʼs on 29th May.
Also confirmed is rising star of deep disco, James Dax from Bucharest for his debut London gig. James is carving out a sterling reputation for himself over the last 2 years with a series of quality productions. Best known for his Beatport Top 10 EP Hot Coffee on Sleazy Deep and the FunknDeep anthem ʼPsycho Ex Girlfriendʼ, James was the obvious choice for Chromoza to rework Behind the Sky by Thorsten Last, with the remix becoming one of the labelʼs top selling tracks in the last 4 months.!
In addition Balearic Records boss Corey Romero will be taking over the DJ box for an hour of blissful, Meditearranean sunset beats. Coreyʼs Deep Dub remix of Like It by Artwoork went viral after it was featured on Ibiza Global Radio by Alex Kentucky, gaining worldwide blog support and radio play.
Joining them is Italian party starter and Chillimint Music artist Luca Elle. A close friend and remix king of Team Chromoza; Luca curated the infamous Sunday party Clandestino at AKA with Berlin resident Miss Jools for 5 sold out years until the clubʼs closure in 2010, makes him a natural selection to help the birthday go with a bang!
The bad boys of Bari, DR-OYD (Jacky Biancofiore) of duo Artwoork and Makinʼ Out (Tommaso Greco) also look forward to playing their first London gig after flying in from Italy. The ʻPublic Research EPʼ released on the label in October last year received critical acclaim from industry media. Their jackinʼ Detroit inspired style is perfect to fuel the dancefloor until close.
Chromoza founder Justin Ballard will be kicking off proceedings with his signature bass driven disco at 20:30, and label manager/resident vocalist Zoe Belucci will be performing the London premiere of Justinʼs track ʻCall it Onʼ, due for release later in 2014.
