Surreal Animations by Simón Prades

Simón Prades is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer from Germany whose art depicts the portraits and silhouettes of random objects bound by a shape that often resemble a celebrity’s head or body; for example, one of his most well-known illustrations of Philip Seymour Hoffman was commissioned by The New Republic for its digital edition. Prades chooses to work in analog mediums such as ink, pencil and watercolour as he claims that working in such mediums helps to express his fantastic imagination as he centres his art around the ideas of dreaming, memory and nature. Building on this medium, Prades then uses computer software to create animations from his originally still pieces:
